As the Yankees crawled themselves up from last place in their division they now make a desperate attempt to buy themselves into the playoffs yet again. awesome. Yesterday Roger Clemens signs a prorated $28 million deal with the Yankees, spurning the Red Sox and Astros. I still remember when he was a BoSox, what is he now, 40?
Anyway, not just because this has to do with the Yankees, and really, what do I care, I'm a Cubs fan, but, I am seriously disillusioned with baseball at the moment. It's so hard to have allegiance to any team when you have to spend more time trying to figure out who is on the roster this week and does a team have enough money to by a championship.
If I were on that Miss America stage and I was asked, "If you could do anything to make the world a better place, what would it be?"
My reply would be simply, "End mid-season trading and acquisitions forever".
(end of rant)

Mid-season acquisitions aren't stopping anytime soon, Mox.
However, I have 2 words that would put a stop to stuff like this: Salary. Cap.
Clemens is 45, if I'm remembering correctly. And a douchebag.
I agree. But I-66 is right...
I am a traditionalist. I liked the days when players went to a team and they lived and died with the team. None of this moving around year after year. But, things change...
Mid-season acquisitions may not be ending any time soon, but Miss America never brought us world peace either. In short: Good answer.
