What, Justice Isn't Color Blind?!? ~ Jury Duty Part Deux

Being on a jury here in D.C. has been a very eye opening experience indeed. & I need to do a better post on what has happened this past week during trial and deliberations when I can.
It's crazy... my co-juroros have been taking everything in the opening and closing as evidence even though half of it was never introduced in court (not supposed to do that). I have taken 37 pages of notes, co-jurors haven't even cracked open their books.

And... for the most frightening part... they are VERY racist and quite open about it. ~ yikes.

It is seriously scary to think some peoples lives depend on this process.

Jury Duty, Jury Duty, Jury Duty

I always get called, but, I am usually asked to leave immediately. Last time it was because I worked with one of the parties involved. Just like yesterday.. I got there said I worked with one of the parties which I did way back in 2000 and... THEY KEPT ME. huh?!? I was actually standing at the door with my bag ready to leave when they announced my number and said, "You are juror number 4". Wow, were they not paying atttention? I know the lawyer and the place where it occurred.

I am so busy right now with two (three) jobs, a wedding around the corner, my family coming to visit, my birthday and now actually on a jury. At the same time, I'm thinking this could be fun. I think that's as much as I can say. shhh..

"Afternoon" vs. "Evening" Proper Etiquette

I am battling with the people designing my wedding invitation right now. Up until now, I have rolled with the flow, I am not picky at all, but, this I have a problem with and we are both standing our ground..

When does "evening" begin? Currently, the invitation reads "half past five in the afternoon".

Last year on my wedding date, the sun set at 4:55, so it is dark. How can 5:30 be afternoon if it's dark. I think it should read evening. She is basically refusing to put "evening" invitation unless I change the start time to 6pm.

Is this crazy?? I know it's crazy that this is the one detail making me crazy when I haven't cared about one other thing. I even booked my location site unseen.

Any thoughts?
